The Institute for Diversity and Civic Life started in 2015. And in the past year, we’ve been busy. Through workshops, trainings, public panels, invited talks at schools and universities, and conferences, we’ve brought our work to more than 700 people. And we have so much more work to do, including:

• expanding our educational and professional development programs-- 'Engaging Diversity' and 'How to Be an Ally'-- to help more and more people learn how to build more inclusive workplaces, build community, confront injustice, and work for social change
• developing resource  guides for professionals including a guide to religious holidays for Texas lawmakers and public officials and a curriculum guide to teaching about 9/11 for public school teachers
• broadening our research on anti-Muslim bias and xenophobia in Texas and releasing an updated 2017 white paper on the climate of Islamophobia in Texas
• growing our 'Religions Texas' initiative, a research partnership with the UT Department of Religious Studies to document the religious and cultural diversity of Texas
